SerialMagic How To: Low-Cost Ticket Checkin - Windows MobileSerialMagic facilitates simple and easy-to-use mobile ticket check-in system This document outlines how to implement a simple, low-cost, easy-to-use mobile ticket checkin solution. Requirements: 2Other scanners supported by SerialMagic Professional Power Upgrade may be used. The Windows Mobile device is loaded with SerialMagic Professional Power Upgrade (SMPPU) (click here to download SMPPU ) Once SerialMagic is installed the user simply runs the setup wizard and picks the "Ticket Check-in" option. The wizard also offers the option to pair a Bluetooth scanner. Note scanner pairing can be done using the wizard or at another time using "Choose new device" option of SerialMagic (see SerialMagic support pages for more documentation and details).
Put the scanner in pairing mode when prompted by SerialMagic. For the KDC200 scan the "Start Pairing" barcode (download and print this sheet for control barcodes) or use the KDC200 menu option to start pairing. SerialMagic will discover nearby Bluetooth devices, pick the Bluetooth scanner from the list, and tap OK.
After SerialMagic Professional is setup for Ticket Checkin, and paired over Bluetooth with the desired Bluetooth scanner, the user Starts SerialMagic, and scans the ~DB-IMPORT barcode to import the CSV file to the database. Click here to create ~DB-IMPORT barcode using Serialio.com's free barcode creator. Now the user simply scans ticket barcodes of the ticket holders, and allows valid ticket holders access.
Using SerialMagic Professional Power Upgrade feature, ticket check-in data can be easily sent to any email address, FTP server, and more using the iScanList.com interface.
