Mac OS X will begin searching for Bluetooth devices. In order for the Scanfob to be found follow these steps:

1) Set Scanfob 2002 to Bluetooth HID mode by scanning the barcode labeled "HID" on the setup sheet.

2) Make the scanner discoverable by scanning barcode labeled "Make Discoverable and Connectable."

The Scanfob should appear as a "Keyboard" device. Select it and click Continue.

OS X will begin pairing with the Scanfob, as shown on this screen.

After a moment, an 8-digit code will appear on the screen, asking you to enter the code.
At this point, the Scanfob should begin emitting a constant laser beam and a chirping sound to indicate the
Bluetooth passkey (PIN) needs to be entered.

Begin scanning the numbers on the setup sheet corresponding to the code that OS X has provided, but there
is a short timing window for which this is available. After scanning all 8 digits, scan the "END" barcode to
complete pairing.

Please see the video of how to connect to the iPad, the process is the same as with the iPad, only with OS X there are more numbers to scan.

Here's a tip on scanning the required digits:

This process can be a bit difficult, but there is an alternative method. If the time window for this process
expires, or an incorrect PIN code is scanned in, you will see this screen:

If you encounter this screen, click the button that reads "Passcode Options..."

Choose the option "Use a specific passcode," and enter a simpler passcode than the automatically generated
one, such as "0" (one zero). Click OK from the Passcode Options box, and then click Continue.

The screen below will be shown, asking you to scan in your new PIN code that was chosen. Scan the digits
shown (in this case, a single "0") followed by the END barcode.

Shortly after scanning the END control barcode above, the Scanfob 2002 should emit
a long tone to indicate it has Bluetooth connected, and the dialog below should be shown.

Click "Quit" and you can then scan barcodes and have them typed at the cursor location in any application on OS X.

Using SerialMagic Professional with many Bluetooth scanners is much simpler than with Bluetooth HID
and is many times more powerful.

Note: Scanfob is sometimes known as the OPN-2002 wireless Bluetooth scanner, except Scanfob 2002 has customized firmware.
