Configure BlueSnap configuration using a cable and Terminal Application - Windows
The following procedure outlines how to configure BlueSnap hardware using a terminal application on a Windows machine.
You will need three things, the BlueSnap bluetooth device, a null-modem cable, and a Terminal application, such as TeraTerm, Hyperterminal, or JavaTerm.
Also suggested is to refer to the BlueSnap Advanced Command Interface guide, for a full list of configurable settings and their commands.

Connect the BlueSnap hardware to an open serial port, using a null-modem cable, ensure the BlueSnap is not Bluetooth connected.
Note which COM port you have connected to; on most PC's, COM1 is located to the left or top, and COM2 is to the right or bottom.
Launch the Terminal application, in this example we will be using Serialio's JavaTerm program.

Make sure the port settings are correct: 115200 / None / 8 / 1 / None

Type "$$$" (3 dollar signs) into the Send window, this will cause the BlueSnap to go into Command Mode.
The BlueSnap will respond with "CMD" and the LED light on the unit will begin to flash rapidly.

Now that the unit is in Command Mode, type "d" <Enter> to view its Basic Settings.

In this example we will use the command "su,9600" <Enter> to change the baudrate from 115200 to 9600 baud.
The BlueSnap device will respond with "AOK" after any successful command.

Now issue the "d" <Enter> command to read the BlueSnap's basic settings again.
Note that the entry for "Baudrt" goes from 115K in the previous screen to 9600 in the following screen.

Consult the BlueSnap Advanced Command Interface guide for a full list of commands.

Make sure to always reboot the BlueSnap at the end of a configuration session, using "r,1" <Enter>

(This document applies to the BlueSnapXP, BlueSnap Standard Male & Female, BlueSnap 9V, and BlueSnap USB devices)
